Synopsis

THE JOKER’S MOVIE CRIMES! The Joker's latest scheme involves filming his crimes in order to sell them as instructional aids, but when he sees himself lampooned in a new Batman movie he decides to make a film humiliating Batman and Robin. His success is only interrupted when the Dynamic Duo and the police track down his hideout thanks to the film-developing chemicals that his men have been dumping into the Gotham River. DICK GRAYSON’S NIGHTMARE! Bruce Wayne arranges to have Wayne Manor redecorated while he is participating in a murder trial in Chicago, leaving Robin to operate out of a nearby cabin belonging to a vacationing mystery writer named Freddy Hobbs. He encounters a mysterious woman who asks for his help and gives him an envelope containing thousands of dollars, but the money subsequently disappears, and when he (as Dick Grayson) tells Commissioner Gordon about this and other mysterious occurrences he is laughed out of police headquarters. He soon discovers that the strange events have been the work of a gang of thieves who are planning on robbing a nearby warehouse and wanted him to discredit himself with the police. As such, he is forced to take them on by himself, as Robin. THE MACHINE OF MENACE! A series of robberies committed in Gotham City by fantastic machines prompts Batman and Robin to follow one out to sea, where they are brought down near the island retreat of genius inventor Eric Golar. After their capture, Batman and Robin learn that Golar dreamt of creating a fully automated city, but that dream was dashed when a thug named Nero Thompson took control of Golar's machines and imprisoned him. Soon Batman, Robin, and Golar escape, and the Caped Crusaders make short work of Nero and his goons.
